Argela and Ericsson Turkey Join Forces

Enrich IMS application portfolio for telecom operators

Argela, a provider of fixed mobile convergence solutions for telecom operators, participates in Ericsson IMS Expert Center in Istanbul, Turkey. The center focuses on IMS and links content and application providers to operators who, in turn, employ a direct line of sight with the developer community, which enables rapid development of future services.

Argela is currently working on the integration of Argela’s Voice Call Continuity (VCC) application to Ericsson IMS backbone in the Expert Center. Voice Call Continuity is an IMS application that enables persistence of voice calls as a mobile phone moves between circuit switched and packet switched radio domains.

IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) is an architectural framework for delivering IP based multimedia services. It was originally designed by the wireless standards body 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), as a part of the vision for evolving mobile networks beyond GSM.

Upon successful completion of integration and certification, Argela and Ericsson Turkey are planning to market this service to the customers.

Mr Ercan Yilmaz, Argela’s VP, International Business Development, said: “We, as Argela, are excited about the joint effort with Ericsson Turkey to enrich the future-proof IMS application portfolio with the integration of our VCC on Ericsson IMS Expert Center. We are looking forward to completing the integration and certification process soon and starting toteami up with Ericsson for the commercial launch of this technology.”
